Walking Listening

In an open outdoor space, people are given small wooden boxes. The boxes contain an LCD screen displaying text instructions and a loudspeaker sonifying one's location using two square wave oscillators controlled by a GPS unit. The work alternates between moments of randomly generated walking instructions coupled with a microtonal dyad changing based on one's coordinate location, and moments of stasis, where the loudspeaker is silenced and text instructions for listening appear, growing in temporal length and abstraction.
